BUILDING ACOUSTICS MEASUREMENTS 

Noise in our living spaces creates an undesirable disturbing situation for our comfort.

Acoustic designs and acoustic arrangements are made in all buildings, structures, facilities and businesses to minimize the negative effects of noise on people's physical and mental health.

In this context, as stated in the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings Against Noise, which entered into force on the Official Gazette No. 30082 on 31.05.2017, Acoustic Performance Certificate is issued showing the acoustic performance class as a result of the acoustic tests to be carried out for all noise sensitive buildings or the independent units inside.

Building acoustic measurements made to determine the Acoustic Performance Class of existing structures and buildings are carried out by acoustic experts who are accredited from the following standards and have the D2 Building Acoustics Measurements certificate, as specified in the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings Against Noise.

Airborne Sound Insulation Measurements

Airborne sound insulation measurements determine the insulation of air-borne sound insulation between rooms in buildings or from the front of the building. Measurements are made by creating a source and receiving room with the necessary equipment.

Airborne sound insulation measurements of vertical structural elements such as walls, doors, windows and facades, horizontal construction elements such as flooring and floor coverings and noise barriers can be performed.

Impact Sound Insulation Measurements

Mass movements such as footsteps, movement of goods, door slamming are transmitted as impact sound through solid transmission. Impact sound insulation measurements of building elements such as flooring and floor covering in buildings are carried out.

Reverberation Time Measurements (Reverberation Time)

The reverberation time is the time it takes for the sound from the source to reverberate from many surfaces and stop propagating. The intelligibility of speech, sound insulation and the quality of the sound heard depend on the reverberation time. Reverberation times obtained as a result of measurements made in residences, offices, administrative buildings, dormitories, terminals, religious centers, education, health, accommodation, cultural, commercial and entertainment facilities are evaluated according to the values given in the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings Against Noise.

Noise Measurements Caused by Service and Service Equipment

Noise from plumbing, mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling service equipment, elevators, garbage chutes, boilers, blowers and pumps in buildings is measured. It is evaluated according to the internal noise levels given in the Regulation on the Protection of Buildings Against Noise.
